Visual Motifs

In interviews Michael Jackson said he was greatly influenced by late James Brown. Often as a young age he would watch performances by James Brown when he was dancing. Brown James is known for his unique foot movement. He continuously said that he was influenced by him, and where he learnt a lot his foot movements.

Michael Jackson’s motifs are his clothes. The shiny, eye catching gem stones and rhinestones he has put on to this custom made his socks, gloves and military jackets

His motifs are usually physical visuals that make up part of his representation. The era when he wore military jackets was when his music was going through a phase when he was engrossed when the army that he even put choreography of soldiers marching with guns behind him.
